For the 2nd Poetry World Slampionship, Poetry International has brought together the eight best slammers in the world for the battle for the title. In a preliminary round and a final it will be decided who is the strongest slammer of 2005. The preliminary round will take place in Muziekcafé Rotown in Rotterdam. The final will take place in the Main Hall of the Rotterdam City Theatre.
Apart from appearing in the preliminary round and the final, the poetry slammers will also be performing elsewhere in Rotterdam in the course of the week. On Saturday afternoon, 18 June, the poetry slammers can be admired at the Centrale Bibliotheek and on Sunday, 19 June, in Boekhandel Donner.
In the preliminary round, the slammers will be judged by the jury members Frank Tazelaar (director of the Dutch literary festival Wintertuin), Rayl Patzak (slam organiser in Germany) and someone from the audience.
During the final, the Dutch poet Jules Deelder will join the jury to decide along with Frank Tazelaar and Rayl Patzak who is going to be the winner of the 2nd Poetry World Slampionship.
