It was amazing to experience such a nice evening which was a birthday from a “friend”. Well “old friend” let’s say because he celebrated his 59th. In a 16m2 living room, 12 people from Belgium, Bulgaria, England, Yugoslavia, Barbados, Vietnam and Holland of course gathered. We all live in Rotterdam. We spoke English and Dutch at the same time. Particular accents from each country were showed in between conversations. Who’s gonna be the next Pope – favorite subject haha…Who didn’t follow the news?
Enjoy your meal! Eet smaakelijk! An ngon! …We said in 5 languages. Everybody really enjoyed “Vietnamees loempia”. This by hand, the others by knife and fork. Neither of them is Vietnamese way – chopstick. Cheers Dutch Vietnamese egg roll!
Does something like that somehow reflect Rotterdam culture? Multicultural, all in one…whatever but it’s just interesting.
